For You

Aug 7
1 min read

I'll do every cliche

Sunday morning

Cruel sunlight

Crinkled eyes

White duvet

You're half awake,

Lazing

I'll make breakfast

Something stereotypical

Orange juice, and scrambled eggs

Bring it to bed

I won't care if you spill

No, really

Spill all over my life

The expanse of you

pouring

indefinitely

Monday

You ask me to stay

I'll cut work

Everyday, if you asked me

I'll get fired and

We could be in this bed for ever

White duvet,

smells like sleep

and your dreams

Tuesday

You make coffee

Two big odd mugs

Pursed lips over the edge

pearl earrings

smudged eyeliner

your face is breeze

Wednesday

If you stopped loving me tomorrow

I'd still love you

Is that okay?

I'd give you the world

I'd go to war

Like for Helen of Troy

I get it actually

I'd do it, even though

I hate that scale of violence

Thursday

You go on a trip

I read my books

Send photos of the hike

The monuments

Tired, but a call at night

saying goodnight

Life is alright after all

Friday

Hold hands in the neighbourhood park

Drink soup outside

With corn flakes on top

You're so much like leaves

against dusty orange sky

Saturday

Tell me the stories

Meander, make no sense

Pretend to play my guitar

I love your friends

and pretty much anything you like

I'll be the worst of cliches

You'll be the best

The weeks go by

For you

- samjam (7/8/26) Only thing I’ll say is. If loving is excruciating, you’re probably loving the wrong person. Or not. What do I know. Toodles :)
