Rufous Treepie

1 min read

I know that you're calling I'm going to that place where the sun meets my eyes and I feel like the shadows of a hundred and one trees Rufous treepie, your tail is a hand that reaches into the well where i dwell with Jerdon's bullfrog; he might as well be mine. ~ I see when I'm falling, your solitary body but I'm going away- to that place where the grass stretches to the parks of my childhood. Darling, angel do you ever hear me and feel equally elated? ~ The world with its yellow curtains is closing on us now; Tomorrow when I return I hope you can come with me, to that village in my heart We'll travel together arm in wing, full of hope.

-samjam (29/08/26 - 6:22pm) Usually I write my poems slowly, over days or years, and take my time editing. This is not one of them :e I've been seeing and hearing a bunch of these birds - I feel calm and nice every time I spot one. Feels like a sign, I don't know what for. This, and sitting near the window in the library reading hall prompted this poem. As the days pass, I find more and more loveliness here. Feel so grateful that I can experience this at all. Thanks for reading, toodles <3
