A Smile

And behold

I see the light in his face

Timid; hiding behind the eyes;

In gentle waves, lacking haste

It comes slight, slinging surprise.


Then I see the lips bow

Like playful curtsy might

Simply bright; a mere show

Of cheeks in boyish delight
