Lazing on...

Lazy day The sun melting As runny yolk Of a soft boil Blanket garden Grass pillow Kiss of breeze n' a cool smile Lazy days Make me wait For cotton hugs n' ladybugs Butter toast Salty smooth Milk glass or Chocolate chews Lazy night Stars snuggle The white part Of morning's egg Rain drops come as smackeroo Or pat pat, a sleep song from the Gods.

This is the first poem I'm posting since I came to college, and I'm wonderfully satisfied with it. For a while now, I was anxious about writing a poem RIGHT and as a result, did not write at all. But today's morning walk on campus was especially comforting that I could not help but type this out immediately. Hopefully this gives me momentum to jump out of poet's block :3 few Imagery: > egg; yolk=sun, white=moon > garden being a bed > cotton clothes as hugs > comforting breakfast foods > stars snuggling/ rain pattering Thanks for reading! leave a heart on the post or comment in blog chat if you want to leave feedback :) Subscribe with email for notification of new posts!
