I fell in love with you

the way I look at clouds

closing my eyes

feeling the droplets fall

one on my arm, one on my chin

here, and then there

I come awake to an ocean

I fell in love with you

the way I drown in the sea

my yellow and your blue

so powerless and inadequate

I struggle and strike but it is calmer, I accept

when I lose my breath I come to hate you like I grow plants slow and nurturing watering from what I once drowned in the flowers are born dead seething poison on my garden gloves I come to hate you like I don't at all I love you still asleep and submerged.

-samjam This is a poem I wrote a while ago. What is interesting about it, is that I challenged myself to share it without editing it. This- is the first draft. There are no other drafts. I sat down, wrote it one shot, and then uhhh done! I am oddly glad that I took up the challenge, since I usually hyper fixate for hours before I give up and post something. [I would like to thank mckyjam for all the encouragement] Why a love letter? Well, it had been raining when I came up with the first two stanzas. And I had watched 10 Things I Hate About You quite recently. I see this sorta as my own take on the Ten Things poem. There we go. Thanks for reading <3 Toodles!
